Get ready for the Presidential Scholarships 2013

Congratulations to all the A Level students who passed this last year. I just met a young lady at the Presidential Scholarship office in Harare and she was looking for information on the scholarships after reading the zimdev post. It was nice to meet someone referred by zimdev. That was cool.

The Presidential Office will be advertising the scholarships in April and will use newspapers and television. I assume that the deadline for next year will be around the end of May as it was last year. Zimdev will post any information we find, if we find it. If we are fortunate enough to see the adverts. If anyone gets the information before us, please let us know. Sharing information doesn’t reduce your chances of getting the scholarships. It may actually increase your chances, what goes around comes around.

Maybe its a good idea to start the process off applying for the scholarships. Find out from the universities how to apply and get all your stuff ready. So don’t panic, there is still time to apply for the 2013 scholarships.

Check out our scholarship resources, don’t put all your eggs in one basket, try the Joshua Nkomo scholarships and other scholarships.

ALL THE BEST ! Please contact Scholarship provider directly. Zimdev is not involved in the awarding of the scholarships. For more information contact the relevant department or organisation.

@ Taf ann, all the best this year. Have you tried other avenues such as distance education. Many people have done their degrees by correspondence while working. Maybe this could work for you as well. One door that closes means another one opens. Don’t despair.

    • May 30, 2012 at 9:23 pm

@ Crispen. Scholarships are hard to come by. You may find that you spend a lot of time and resources applying and not get any positive responses. Balance it out. Find a way of generating income on your own and still continue to apply. i heard a story about a young man at the university of Zimbabwe who goes to South Africa, buys and sells goods and is paying his way through university. Remember that if you think it cannot be done and that life is tough, it will definitely be that way for you. Find a way to make your dreams come true.

    • June 11, 2012 at 9:51 am

Thank you @Fari. It is definitely looking like there is nothing this year. This calls for a plan B. You can never rely on aa scholarship. Don’t plan your life around scholarships, they are few and far between. We’ll just keep hoping they do reconsider.

    • June 17, 2012 at 8:01 pm

Innovation is the key. Scholarships are few and far between and on this side of the planet, they dont often go to deserving students, they usually go the connected students with rich influential dads. the rest of us, have to be innovative. right on Tafadzwa. I see no reason why you wouldn’t aplly. Maybe you wouldn’t be deemed as less priviledged if you live in the West?? I’d apply and see what happens?

    January 30, 2013 at 10:32 pm

    Hi Zimdev
My name is Matifadza Jamu and I am 19 years old. I recently got accepted in Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma in USA. I will be starting my first year in August 2013. I will be studying Mathematics so that I can eventually work as an actuary. At A Level I did six subjects so I am used to working hard. My mother is a civil servant so she would never be able to afford my tuition. So please could I have help in finding resources, companies or organizations that would be able to fund my studies. Or if possible, do you know any websites that I could apply to?
Thank you very much, and I hope to hear from you soon

  101. February 1, 2013 at 9:40 am

I think you can only get them in Harare and only after they advertise. I’m not sure if there are any application forms actually, Read the post. When they advertise they will tell you all the required information to make the application. Please note that the next application process could be different from the one advertised here.
