The Micro Mba Acknowledged

The Micro Mba has been nominated as a finalist for the Africa SMME Awards for 2011. The most outstanding business or entrepreneur will be awarded at a gala award ceremony on the 13th of October. Cedric Buffler who developed the Micro Mba has previously been awarded the social entrepreneur of the year 2007 at the World Economic Forum. He looks set to pick up another award for the renowned Micro Mba

The Africa SMME Awards are sponsored by various African and international agencies and companies. The Africa SMME Awards project was launched by ACIA (Africa Centre for Investment Analysis) an investment promotion and research centre at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

“SMMEs are undeniably the engines of economic growth in most African countries. The only way to true economic empowerment in Africa is to promote by-the-people-for-the-people enterprises. SMMEs have until recently been the black sheep of development models, but the donor-model has come and gone without making any significant impact.” Said Biekpe, ACIA.

We at PBA are proud to be associated with the Micro Mba because it has impacted more than 170 000 people. The Micro Mba has shown a significant impact on new businesses as established by independent auditors who surveyed unemployed people in Orange Farm. They found that 81% of those who did the course had become economically active. General statistics show that more than 90% of new businesses fail in the first five years, so the Micro Mba has a significant impact on sustainability of businesses.

The Micro Mba is a great tool that benefits all levels of business people. CEO’s with formal Mba’s from top universities have attended the Micro Mba and hailed it as being a remarkable tool that simplifies business principles. This is why the London Financial Times has said the Micro Mba is’ Brilliantly Simple and Simply Brilliant.’

My money is on the Micro Mba winning the award because it is Simply Brilliant.
